Design A Drum Workshop

 ages 18 month TO 5  capacity 8     90 min

The first 10 minutes will be an introduction to materials and techniques. The last 20 minutes will be used for cleanup and Q&A. Each child will have one hour to decorate drum. Parent must accompany and be responsible for child at all times. Workshop will provide drum, paints and supplies. All materials are nontoxic. Paints and markers are water based, odorless and child safe. Drum will be completed on or offsite. TBA.

ages  6 TO 11       capacity 12            90 min

The first 20 minutes will be an introduction to materials and techniques. The last 10 minutes will be used for cleanup and Q&A. Each student will have one hour to decorate drum. Workshop will provide drum, paints,and supplies. This age group will be guided more towards self expression with less emphasis on technique. All materials are nontoxic. Paints and markers are water based, odorless and child safe. Drum will be completed on or offsite.  TBA.

 ages   11 TO 15          Capacity 14      120 Min  

The first 30 minutes will be an introduction to materials and various gourd decorating techniques. The last 10 minutes will be used for cleanup and Q&A.  Each Student will be provided with one drum and a wide range of conceptual decorative applications. For example: painting, drawing, sponge technique and fabric applications. The drum will be completed offsite or TBA. Optional: If completed onsite a second day workshop may be added for skinning drum head and drum head decoration. 

ages  16 to 105      Capacity 14       120 min

The first 30 minutes will be an introduction to materials and various gourd decorating techniques. The last 10 minutes will be used for cleanup and Q&A. Each student will be provided with one drum and a wide range of conceptual decorative applications. For example; painting, drawing, sponge technique and fabric application. The adult group will also use alcohol based dyes that give off a low alcohol odor. A mask is not required or need but the smell will be noticable. The drum will be completed offsite or TBA. Optional: If completed onsite a second day workshop may be added for skinning drum head and drum head decoration.
